The results of the simulation are the parameters of the stability of the voltage, current, and system harmonics.į. System modeling is done using PSIM software. This research was conducted by simulating a DC railway traction model with a 12 pulse rectifier and knowing the comparison of the system power quality between the VSD converter load and the resistive load as the basic reference for the traction substation work system of this model. The purpose of this study was to determine the electric power quality parameters of DC railway traction using a 12 pulse rectifier and a VSD converter load. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct an assessment related to DC traction substations to obtain good electrical power quality. The operation of the rectifier and the VSD converter load causes harmonics to appear on the AC input side, so anticipation needs to be done. In the topology of the DC traction substation there is a rectifier component which generally uses a 12 pulse rectifier type and the load is in the form of a trainset with a component in the form of a converter used for variable speed drives (VSD). INKA (persero) Industry Kereta Api, Indonesiaĭepartment of Railway Engineering and Transportation Planning, University of Isfahan I find it starts first or second pull and, for me, is not a hard pull.PT. I'm in a semi-rural area and can run it all night without annoying the neighbours, some of whom are running their own generators. It's fairly noisy and I wouldn't like to operate it after dark in a suburban area. This isn't a problem and I suspect any generator of this type would do the same. When starting a large load, e.g., kettle, there is a brief drop in voltage before the inverter tells the engine to speed up. Read more ts, the PC/internet then one of kettle, washing machine, dishwasher or clothes dryer. For the average power outage, 3 to 8 hours, the running cost is acceptable. But it's either that or torches and a fridge full of spoiled food. A tank of fuel lasts about 12 hours, so as an alternative to mains power it's expensive. Other than refuelling I ran the generator continually for that period. With a move to Melbourne's outer east it has been getting a lot of use lately, due to regular power outages caused by trees. It would be an annoyance to my neighbours outside those hours. I probably would only run it after 9am till around 3pm. It is quiet enough to run in my backyard during the day. It still made enough power to run my fish tanks. I pushed it and it dropped the revs 30% (guestimate). I would of been happy with that, but then I noticed a power saving mode switch. My Makita lawnmower has a Briggs and Stratton e500 4 stroke ohv engine and the Ferrex was quieter than my idling mower. It wasn't a very scientific test, but it did make power. It was powerful enough to run 2 fish tanks with lighting, water and air pumps. I was anticipating half a dozen pulls to get the fuel circulating before it fired up. It started first pull, a little rough for 10 seconds then steady. I filled it full of 5w-30 oil and 91unleaded fuel then pulled the cord. I'll also be using it on the odd camping tri. I'll use it for a back up, a portable 240v generator is big enough to run my large fridge freezer. It suits my needs as I won't be running it continuously. It's a small unit, smaller than I thought it would be. I though I would give this new model Ferrex 3300w unit a try as most reviews were of older units. ALDI generators have had a few bad reviews. I think people were reluctant to buy them so they have been marked down from $399. I purchased the ALDI Ferrex 3300w generator on sale for $349.
