![]() ![]() One thing all of these amazing rooms have regardless of having tub or pool is a spectacular ocean view. Each room has either a balcony with a large outdoor hydro spa tub or a semi-private swim up pool if you are on the ground floor. This incredible hotel boasts 448 lavishly appointment rooms fully equipped for ultimate luxury. However, there are exceptions to this and meet the #1 exception ever Unico 20° 87°. For the more discerning traveler this means all-inclusive is usually a no-go. Less than impressive cuisine, cheap alcohol, and poor service are what you’ll typically find. Since the beginning, ‘all-inclusive’ resorts and hotels have had a negative view and for the most part- rightfully so. I knew from this very moment I was in a special place. I was told to sit down, enjoy a delicious cold glass of juice, pick an aromatherapy scent of my choice for my room, and relax in a seat as they checked me. Beautiful lanterns dangling high from the white washed vaulted ceilings, crisp white walls with dark wood floors, and a dark pintuck leather seating areas to swoon over immediately greeted me. How romantic to sip some bubbly on the terrace, conversing about everything and nothing while we listen to the waves crash on the beach & look at the stars beyond a tropical vista. As I walked through the doors flaked with smiling bellman and into the lobby of UNICO 20˚87˚ Hotel Riviera Maya I was immediately engulfed in impeccable design. We celebrated Brad’s birthday while there and that night after dinner came back to our bed decorated with treats and the cutest avocado piñata, and a chilled bottle of champagne. When the pool got a little crowded and our group of 6 wanted to hang out together, one of the awesome attendants rearrange furniture and brought over an extra umbrella for us to make sure that we would be comfortable. Wait staff visited regularly and you could order food or drinks without having to traipse back to the pool bar. This was great as it kept our beautiful room looking nice all the time and helped avoid the pile of wet towels and tracked-in sand following beach jaunts.Įven at the beach there was service. Rooms are refreshed twice a day–once at mid-day and then again for turndown service. Our local host, Adriano, was sure to message or find us on the resort to confirm reservations & ensure that we had everything we needed. Throughout our stay, I was very impressed with the level of service. Just take a look at the room service steak!! The 24-hour room service was a huge draw for me (insert imagery of tipsy me, in bed going in on some tacos) and the quality of the room service menu items far exceeded my expectations. the fresh green juice from either room service or Cafe Inez.the fennel cream soup at 20☈7° restaurant. Some items I loved that I recommend you try: I found it note-worthy that any food allergies or sensitivities were inquired about before seating at any restaurant. There are a variety of options for any palette or dietary type. The restaurants range from contemporary Mexican fare, to Asian and Italian cuisine. The resort is all-inclusive and unlimited, so you are able to try a variety of anything you want. Reservations for dinner are a must and your local host or travel agent can assist you with securing them. Be prepared to gain at least 5 pounds here. As you walk around the grounds you take in the ambient sounds of nature: the ocean waves in the distant, exotic birds, & soft hypnotic music. The buildings all have that “spa” smell that entices you to the gift shop to purchase some candles so you can bring that delightful aroma home with you. They offer an aromatherapy menu at check-in for you to choose a scent for your rooms. I read somewhere on the internet while researching this resort that UNICO 20☈7° is a “multi-sensory experience” and truer words have never been spoken. During check-in we were seated in the lobby at a comfortable area and provided with their signature welcome drink, the Jade, a refreshing spritzer with fresh ginger & cucumber. Upon entry, our suitcases were disinfected & there was a sanitizing mat available to clean our shoes. That was just an introduction to the attentiveness of the staff and the resort commitment to sanitation. After some collective wide-eyed wtf-ing our driver shrugs his shoulders and tells us in an insouciant tone “Hey, this is the Unico.” Out of nowhere, an attendant begins to circle our van wearing this ghostbusters-type garden contraption and proceeds to sanitize the tires & exterior of the vehicle. Our driver was fantastic and after a moderate drive, we found ourselves pulling up to the gatehouse of UNICO 20☈7°. We used Kalido Travel for our transfer from the airport to the resort. For me what defines luxury accommodations is in the attention to detail. ![]()
